Wisconsin History Preserved for Future Generations to Enjoy
Rhona Vogel leverages over 35 years of experience as a certified public accountant and registered investment advisor in her role as CEO and founder of Vogel Consulting in Brookfield, Wisconsin. At the multi-family office investment firm, Rhona Vogel provides families with integrated tax and estate planning services. Aside from her professional endeavors, Ms. Vogel serves as a board member of the Wisconsin Historical Foundation.
The Wisconsin Historical Foundation serves to advance the mission of the Wisconsin Historical Society. By preserving stories about the past, the society hopes that future generations will share a connection to their roots and to the larger fabric of the people and places that have come before them.
To that end, the Wisconsin Historical Society operates a number of museums and historical sites across the state, including the Wisconsin Historical Museum. The museum features a number of permanent exhibits that explore the state’s archeological history, frontier past, and political contributions. The museum also hosts author appearances and lectures that explore Wisconsin’s unique history.
In addition to regular programming, the Wisconsin Historical Museum hosts temporary exhibits such as the Flavor of Wisconsin. The exhibit served as a celebration of flavors that are associated with Wisconsin history and how they reflect the state’s diverse heritage. In conjunction with the exhibit, attendees were given the opportunity to sample food and drink by some of the state’s food producers.
Another temporary exhibit celebrated Harvey’s Wallbangers: The 1982 Milwaukee Brewers. Memorabilia and artifacts from the National League champions were displayed for baseball fans.
Throughout the holiday season, guests to the museum can visit Ever Gleaming: The Enduring Love Affair with Aluminum Christmas Trees. A replica of a typical 1960s living room is included in the exhibit that explores the significance of the Wisconsin produced Evergleam Christmas tree. With advance registration, guests can choose to have their family portrait taken in the exhibit.
